Rail - Kent County, Delaware

Rail service is available through Norfolk Southern on the Delmarva branch formerly operated by Conrail. This 128-mile stretch provides continuous welded track paralleling U.S. 13 between Newark and Pocomoke City, Maryland. NS also retains Conrail's right to operate over Amtrak's Northeast Corridor and NS serves the Indian River secondary line between Harrington and Frankford. Service opportunities for utility, food products, chemical and other Delmarva customers include new single-line service between Delaware and Kansas City connections with western railroads and single-line service to the Southeast. NS also offers connections for the Maryland and Delaware Railroad to its non-contiguous branches in the Delmarva area.
